Tropical Pitcher Plants are carnivorous plants that prefer a warm, high humidity environment with bright, indirect light. There are a range of species available commercially, so a good guideline is to keep them in temperatures between 60-90 degrees and keep them in a windowsill or under a grow light. Nepenthes do not experience any periods of dormancy, but may lose pitchers due to insufficient light, stress, or temperature. You can feed them biweekly with cricket powder, fish food or insects if needed to supplement growth during the winter.
For any carnivorous plant, water with rain water or distilled water and do not fertilize the soil.
