A long-bladed carving knife is a handy kitchen tool for slicing roasts, poultry, or ham, even vegetables. Though this is not Henckels’ premier carving set–the blade is a bit thicker and the handles are narrower and shallower–the moderately priced 8-inch knife and 6-inch fork will perform nicely and come with a lifetime warranty.
