Tradescantia zebrina is an old favorite, trailing houseplant displaying colorful, pointed, striped leaves of purple, silver and green. Easy to grow for hanging baskets, or as a cascading planter.
Plant in well-drained soil with regular watering. Pinch tips to encourage fuller branching. The colors are best in bright light.
Tradescantias are creeping perennials with oval-shaped green leaves striped with shades of purple, pink, yellow or white. Tradescantias are native to Mexico, Central America, and parts of South America but do well indoors in temperate climates with the right conditions.
